mid-afternoon

I'm getting a lot of whispered hear-tell about some kind of event tonight! Someone help a new girl out and fill me in.

Wasting no time getting social, huh?

Don't listen to him, he's being a shithead difficult. No food or drink is allowed in the library, and like most libraries, noise is frowned upon.

A movie night elsewhere isn't a bad idea though.

And I realize that all sounded very weird out of context. I'm Broderick, the Head Librarian. I don't just randomly have opinions of library etiquette.

A prom actually, a valentine's day prom. You've come just in time, I'd say.

[...] Also if it was going to be Meg Ryan related it would have obviously been about When Harry Met Sally...or You've Got Mail.

Well, I love to hear that. It's improving every day - we're an extensive academic library that has been modified to be more accommodating of the general needs of the Society patrons, including fiction, non-fiction, and access to computers and other media. Anything in particular you may be looking for?

Me either The Committee looks like they've worked hard to make sure it's exactly that. You should come, no better way to meet everyone.

Irresponsible with its historical inaccuracies, but John Cusack. Absolutely.

We do actually, with Maya's help we've expanded a lot of the healing and potion catalogue. If you come in you can help identify any other gaps.

Welcome to the healing department, I'm Maya. I see Broderick already filled you in about prom.

Whether you're stumped or not, your knowledge would be invaluable to the library and everyone else if you don't mind sharing it.

I can't tell if that's a joke or not.

Yes, I suppose the talking bat really erased any credibility pretty quickly.

I'm not sure that I'd call myself mysterious but I am happy to give you a tour of the healing offices this weekend.

And now you only have a few hours to prep for prom. I'll be in a lavender dress, and I'm sure I'll notice a face I haven't seen before.

Well, you clearly lead a very different life than I do And it looks like it paid off.

I didn't even know there was a stag musical if we're being honest.
