mission #1008 - hydra havoc (posted a day early)

WHO: Everyone is invited!
WHEN: Monday, February 12th.
WHERE: Lerna, Greece
WHAT: Cadenza Pickle, amateur YouTube archaeologist, has accidentally awakened an ancient hydra and needs all the help they can get, ASAP. Byron Best leads the charge.
WARNINGS: Violence.

HYDRA HAVOC

Cadenza Pickle, amateur YouTube archaeologist, was filming a dig in a restricted area when they accidentally chipped an enormous boulder that then split in two, awakening the immortal severed hydra head that had been lying inert beneath it. Once exposed, the creature regenerated its body and began its rampage anew.

BYRON BEST was asked to lead this emergency mission, and he needs all the help he can get to defeat the creature before it can destroy the local villages and ruin Cadenza's YouTube rep.

Since Byron has had very little time to prepare, he has only managed to throw together three helpful types of magical gadgets for this mission. Each participant may choose ONE of the following (there are multiple items of each type):

• Cauterizing sword - to slice off heads and keep 'em that way
  
• Protective forcefield bubble - to deflect physical attacks
  
• Poison immunity bezoar ring - to deflect poison attacks

Upon arrival, the hydra already has 3 heads. Consider your strategy carefully or they will multiply!

HYDRA FACTS

• Serpentine water monster, guardian to the Underworld
  
• Every head chopped off grows three more in its place
  
• Poisonous breath/poisonous blood
  
• Invulnerable as long as it retains at least one head

RULES

EVERYONE is welcome to participate in this mission regardless of department, job or relevant skills—they need all the help they can get. This mission is considered DANGEROUS, and injuries are possible (please keep this in mind if you do not want your character to be hurt).

• Choose one of the magical objects above to assist your character.
  
• Select one of the two teams below: FIGHT for characters actively attacking the monster, or SUPPORT for characters supporting the fighters (eg. healers, documentarians, creature experts, anything else).
  
• Characters will receive an RNG score for their contributions toward their team's success (or failure)!
