Speed Dating at The Boneyard

To help support the Supernatural Toronto Animal Rescue, speed dating has been set up at The Boneyard, and everyone's invited! Everyone supernatural, that is. The bar has been decorated with hearts and streamers and little sparkling, floating motes of light, and every purchase of food and drink helps the rescue.

About thirty minutes into the start of the event, speed dating begins! At the beginning of each round, everyone participating is handed a card with a number on it - go to that number table to find your match. Magic prevents people from matching up twice, and when you sit down a magical little placard appears in front of you with your name, pronouns, species, job, and any other notes you may have added to your application, just to speed (get it?) things along. While everyone's preferences (both on what they're looking for and what gender they're after) were mostly respected, the organizer, a witch named Zoey Graves who calls herself a Love Doctor, has made some adjustments where she sees fit. Sorry not sorry!!!

Each round there's a prompt as well, to get the conversations going! Prompts are delivered from the stage via microphone by none other than Bracken Hemming, who has been given a red sequin cowboy hat that has a big heart on it. Zoey keeps trying to get him to unbutton his shirt more each round, to get the mood right. Also, any time someone buys a pitcher of beer, a bell is rung and Bracken has to do a shot of the pitcher-buyer's choosing.

HOW THIS WORKS

• I've assigned everyone four partners each, but there were certainly more rounds, and you can feel free to make up any NPCs you matched with or do any match ups you want with other played characters!


• Round 4 is all just goober NPCs that I won't be running. If you have an NPC for rounds 1 or 2 (I put an asterisk next to them), feel free to start a thread and I'll reply some with the NPC.


• Everyone will have 10 minutes at each table - be charming, people, and quick!


• At the end of the night, the Love Doctor Zoey will collect the names of people you're interested in and what you're interested in with them (friendship? hookup? Ken?), and if the feeling is mutual she'll share your contact info with each other.

» Speed Dating: This is where the magic happens. Participants are given one free drink to loosen them up a bit.

» The Bar: Observers can watch this like a game show - everything they eat and drink helps out the charity, so they're definitely doing their part.

Technically, Cinder graduates tomorrow. But she hasn't told anybody about it and this has been a weird af semester so she's just here to keep her mind off the fact that her life kind of sort of changes a lot real soon. Or maybe not at all. It's complicated.

ARRIVALS: Rakesh

"'Eyooooo!" Rakesh does finger guns at no one to make himself feel like he's popular and knows people, then heads straight for the bar. Alcohol will absolutely prevent any inconvenient glitching from happening tonight, this is a great plan.

ARRIVALS: Richard

Richard did not sign up for this. But, it is for charity. He is here.

ARRIVALS: Asher and Maya

Asher and Maya arrived together. Asher was going to blow the whole thing off, no matter the fact that he was signed up against his will, but two things held him up. One, Maya's encouragement that the event was for charity, so it would be harmless for him to go. (If she'd been against it, he wouldn't have stepped foot through the door tonight.) Two, a nagging feeling that his absence would leave the people he'd been paired up with in a lurch, awkwardly alone on a night already designed for awkward and lonely people. In a shocking twist, he showed up wearing basically the same thing he always wears.

At least he still gets free drinks here.

ARRIVALS: Rhia

Byron is here even though he doesn't want to be, because it's for ✨charity✨ and he's a Good Boy. He's polite but not hitting on anyone.

Leeds who did not sign up for this but has a problem saying no shows up a little anxious but is going to Try his best not to bail or be rude to anyone. He doesn't know what any of "his" answers are and will be acting as if he's here out of obligation.
