A DAY IN THE LIFE

Adventure Society HQ's abuzz with a new round of visitors: the crew for GRAVEYARD SHIFT, a day-in-the-life television program that follows a different supernatural entity on their job every episode. Today they're shadowing Head Wrangler BRACKEN HEMMING but they seem pretty interested in the Society's function at large...

Throughout the day host FORTUNA HARLOW and her crew find excuses to film the Society's HQ and interview its Adventurers. They're liable to be found anywhere that isn't locked and to interview anyone who'll give Harlow the time of day.

A bigfoot from the PNW, host FORTUNA HARLOW's been a staple of supernatural investigative journalism ever since her 1972 deep dive into New England's Brownie labour movement. (Why she's working a wholesome show like Graveyard Shift is anyone's guess.) On camera she's friendly, off camera she's no-nonsense, and to GRACIA QUINTANILLA she's a stone cold bitch.

Anyone can can answer questions by tagging into Q&A! Questions can have multiple responses or be posed in multiple situations, ex. one that's already been answered by a cook in the kitchen can also be answered by a PowerPoint wizard in Creativity.

Oh. It's Fortuna. Gracia remembers her. Always just a little smarter, sharper, more creative than Gracia was back in film school. Now she's here at her workplace, prancing around with a film crew and an entire show, while Gracia clenches her teeth shut. Don't start anything, Quintanilla!! Not today!!

Gracia is on her best behavior, but she's distracted and intense when anyone tries to talk to her. Haha!! This is super okay!!

Hell yeah Fortuna Harlow! Darcy was an episode of the Graveyard Shift a few years back, an episode where the sexual tension was so visible on the screen (despite Fortuna's professionalism) that no one batted an eye when the tv host was papped leaving Darcy's a few mornings after it aired. It was a short term hook-up but they're friendly still, and Darcy is genuinely delighted to see her and the crew. Probably overly familiar and chatty, but hey, that's her way.

Cinder is taking Biscuit for a walk when she stumbles upon all this. Biscuit is better on camera than Cinder is.

Hy has been a big fan of this show ever since Darcy was on it, and also he's nosy af.

A fucking tv crew? Broderick is doing his best to control his face and his annoyance, like he doesn't love to hear the sound of his own voice or literally talk at people for a living. But they're featuring Bracken and Broderick wants to be a supportive...friend. He's surly and matter of fact where the AS questions are concerned (especially since he's pretty sure Cantlebury has lured them here under false pretenses and they can't show their hand just yet), but noticeably softer when talking about Bracken that it's embarrassing tbh.

Leeds is ~~hiding~~ being a camera shy cryptid, very at odds with big shot smut book muse.

Bracken's old job sent Graveyard Shift his way for their Creature Feature episode and he's not nearly as nervous as he'd otherwise be. He's professional, soft-spoken, ~~only growls once!,~~ and will be at his ✨ most animated ✨ when he's showing off the Yard's critters. He doesn't mention the existence of one Speckles the dodo.

While he's glad to have a break whenever the crew goes to ~~bother~~ interview someone else, he's a little 🤨 about their avenue of questioning. (Except when the questions are about him — then he turns beet red and leaves.)

Well hello! Barbie doesn't really think she has that much to say and isn't this about Bracken? Either way she will still answer truthfully 💯💯

"I'm the Head of Creativity here, actually, which is a very important job. One of my responsibilities is to make sure we're showing off all the spectacular talents here at the Society, just in case anyone is curious about our exploits or wants to doubt our skills." Gracia's smile is painfully taut as she stares directly at the camera and avoids eye contact with Fortuna. That bitch.

"Listen babe, I've been here...two months now," she looks over at Leeds who she was ~~accosting~~ hanging out with outside the kitchens when the crew came upon them (and who is unfortunately stuck there) for confirmation. "Two months, give or take and I think we all know what this is. The people here are far too sexy to be assembled in one place, living together, if this wasn't the newest season of Big Brother. Or an sex cult." Her smile is sharp and wide, inviting to both Fortuna and the viewers.

"We do in fact go on 'missions'" she uses the air quotes liberally, "and do things like slay Hydra and fight homicidal snowmen, but come on. It's for the sexy action shots. That's why you're featuring my bodyguard in the first place isn't it? You can trust me, I'm here for the eye candy," she waves her notebook of book ideas for the camera. "Professionally, of course. And the proof of that is coming out next week, Hot as Puck. Stay thirsty," she winks.

Cinder's vibe through the interview

"Demolitions. Yeah. You know, big, small, whatever we need to get through."

Do you have to do a lot of that here?

"Not really, no? So I mostly end up tagging along and finding rogue druids or ..."

"The Adventure Society is allegedly a questing fellowship that a brilliant and capable collection of people were invited to join under pretenses that were not at all false. In practice, the Society has been part exploration, part vigilantism, and part villainous vanity project held together by craft glue. I'm the Head of the Knowledge Department."

"Oh please, how are you defining 'dangerous'?You could say that about any of us babe, me especially," she leers as she shamelessly takes a drag of her cigarette on camera. "But none of us are in any danger here, we even had a little pet adoption to do not too long ago. Wrangler Hemming does a great job of protecting all of our bodies. Mine specifically, but the others when he has time to."

She makes a show of thinking about the last question. "Strong," she decides with a smirk. "My other words would probably have to be bleeped out for the children."

"Do you mean the people working here or the critters? Because I do not fear critters."

"We rescued some Sleipnirs! They were nice! We also killed a Hydra. It was less nice."

"Good-natured hunk. Big muscles but even bigger... heart."

Broderick goes on, like...forever about this. As a colleague, he is very determined that everyone know how competent and fantastic Bracken is as Head Wrangler, how safe he keeps everyone at the Society yes, but also the creatures themselves who he shows a lot of compassion for. Like maybe dial down the intensity though, this isn't your impassioned closing statement to the jury (it's toeing the line between Enjolras and Craig Middlebrook)

He stumbles a bit at the last question - a single word? "Dedicated." No wait. "Caring. Brilliant."

A large dark shape can be seen perched up on a tree? Oh, it's a goat. How did it get all the way up there? This isn't some short shrubby growth- and it's noticed the camera. A blurry goat-shaped thing is caught flying away at a great speed.
